We are currently partnering with a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering high-quality reentry programs aimed at facilitating transformative life changes for individuals. They are seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join their team. The Human Resources Assistant plays a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of the HR department, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards. With a focus on administrative excellence, this position encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, including clerical support, recruitment assistance, and employee records management
Core Duties:
  • Provide comprehensive clerical support, including mail handling, faxing, and scanning.
  • Assist in employment procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct pre-employment clearances and reference checks.
  • Enroll new employees accurately in the time clock system.
  • Manage procurement for uniforms and supplies.
  • Maintain clearance documentation and collect necessary materials.
  • Prepare new hire packets and ensure data accuracy.
  • Monitor and track Employee Performance Appraisals.
  • Assist in biweekly employee time reports for payroll.
  • Schedule Occupational Health appointments efficiently.
  • Resolve IT tickets for new and separated employees.
  • Prepare documentation for unemployment and workers' compensation claims.
  • Facilitate recruitment processes and new hire orientations.
  • Disseminate information about the Exit Interview process.
  • Maintain applicant tracking logs and performance appraisal spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities.
  • Communicate company information promptly and professionally.
  • Handle incoming calls and return messages promptly.
  • Participate in mandatory training and development sessions.
  • Execute additional job-related duties as assigned with professionalism.
What we're looking for:
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and proficiency in computer skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Knowledge of accepted HR principles and practices.
  • Strong business communication skills and adherence to protocol.
  • Ability to efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate effectively within teams and excel in independent work.
  • Demonstrate clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Uphold confidentiality standards at all times.
