Talent Systems is Hiring a Content and SEO Manager Near Los Angeles, CA

*This is a hybrid position, working 2-3 days out of our office located in Koreatown - Relocation is unfortunately not provided for this role.*

We are headquartered in Los Angeles and operate in the US, Canada, Mexico, UK, Australia and India. Our portfolio brands include Casting Networks, Spotlight, Cast It Systems, Staff Me Up, Tagmin, Casting Frontier, and Cast It Reach.

This role would be focused on Casting Networks and Casting Frontier. 

Job Purpose: The Manager, Content & SEO will define and oversee the content marketing and SEO strategy for Casting Networks and Casting Frontier, two of our leading casting platforms for roles in commercials, TV, film, and digital projects. An experienced team leader and passionate growth marketer, you will lead the development and distribution of digital content that drives audience engagement, consideration and subscriber growth. You will leverage your deep and strategic understanding of SEO best practices and your experience executing SEO programs to create and manage a high-quality editorial strategy in which you relentlessly test, optimize and iterate to drive growth.

This role has two direct reports: The Executive Editor of News and Digital Marketing Specialist, Content & SEO - This role will report to the Director of Product Marketing & Growth 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Content/Copy

  • Oversee multiple blogs, working with a team of third-party writers and copy editors.
  • Define and execute a weekly, monthly and annual editorial calendar and strategy in partnership with the Executive Editor.
  • ​​Manage the editorial process from ideation to execution, clearly articulating our growth strategy and the critical metrics we’ll measure against.
  • Oversee the development and launch of Casting Networks podcast episodes, making sure to utilize pre-roll, mid-roll and post-roll segments as major promotional opportunities for each episode.
  • Liaise with international teams to assist with creation of relevant, localized content.
  • Assist with communications and developing strong copywriting capabilities within the team, enforcing consistency in brand tone, voice and messaging across marketing assets.
  • Collaborate with the line of business marketing team to plan and execute cross-channel content strategies and campaigns that deliver measurable impact toward business goals.
  • Oversee and distribute regular reports covering website and content performance metrics, identifying trends and areas of opportunity.
  • Coordinate with the content and SEO teams of other Talent Systems lines of business to share best practices, processes, resources, support and relevant industry news.

SEO

  • Define and execute an SEO strategy spanning acting, auditioning, casting, life as an actor and other related topics, including defining a roadmap and prioritizing initiatives to drive subscriber growth.
  • Work with third-party developers to ensure regular website audits, best practice implementation, technical SEO development, and keyword and link optimization.
  • Create and launch targeted off-page SEO strategies to increase traffic to our websites.
  • Monitor traffic performance and site analytics using Google Analytics and Google Search Console to uncover optimization opportunities, including acting as a subject matter expert in these platforms relative to channel attribution and tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal editorial team and external writers to produce high-ranking SEO content.

Team Leadership

  • Manage a small team of editorial and content leads, including holding 1x1s, conducting performance reviews and providing mentorship and subject matter expertise.
  • Manage external contractors and agencies as needed, including overseeing contracts, budgets and project managing initiatives and timelines.
  • Act as the in-house expert and thought leader with respect to content and SEO for Casting Networks and Casting Frontier, preparing and presenting executive-facing recommendations, reports and presentations for cross-functional meetings.
  • Partner with Director, Marketing to proactively define content & SEO roadmaps for each line of business that align with growth goals and priorities for the company.

Qualifications & Attributes:

  • 4 years specializing in SEO content strategy with demonstrated experience driving top organic rankings.
  • Entertainment industry experience strongly preferred.
  • 2 years managing direct reports across growth, content and/or social media.
  • Very strong writing, grammar and copy-editing skills. Writing samples will be evaluated during the interview process.
  • Strong quantitative skills with the ability to analyze metrics and identify performance trends and areas of opportunity from a dataset.
  • Experience with analytics tools (Google Search Console, Google Analytics), and third-party SEO tools (SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.) 
  • Self-starter who thrives and delivers in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Familiarity with the casting and performing arts industry is a plus!
