Position SummaryThe Production Supervisor is responsible for providing supervisory oversight of the reconditioning process. A successful candidate will oversee and manage a team of employees to meet production and quality standards while adhering to US Auto Sales cosmetic and mechanical Standards. The Production Supervisor will have frequent interaction with employees and vendors and must conduct business within US Auto’s policy and procedures. Manages the day to day activities of the technicians, detailers, and vendors to ensure timely movement of vehicles. Leads and trains a team of technicians and/or detailers to complete repairs effectively while minimizing re-checks and delays in production. Maintains service quality by overseeing and inspecting vehicles serviced by technicians, detailers, and vendors. Identifies mechanical and physical defects of incoming inventory to determine proper reconditioning requirements. May conduct test drives to verify necessary repairs. Assigns work orders and initiates approval for repair orders and closes work orders after careful review of completed repairs. Ensures all labor hours are flagged and the appropriate invoices are applied at the time of completion. Monitors department reporting such as technician hours, reconditioning costs, overtime, after sale repairs, vehicle cycle time, etc. Manages the safe movement of cars into and out of the Inspection and Emission Center, while meeting or exceeding production and quality goals. Coordinates delivery of vehicles to outside vendors for repairs when necessary. Assigns employees transport routes to pick up and deliver vehicles to various locations. Keeps abreast on the rapid changes in automobile technologies and diagnostics. Enforces and follows all safety guidelines to minimize injuries. Directs the training, performance management, and development for staff. Cultivates an enthusiastic work environment that will build positive employee attitudes and increase employee morale. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma/GED 4 - 6 years of automotive repair experience Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to collaborate with team to achieve results Strong analysis and decision making ability Proficient computer skills Preferred 2 - 4 years of supply chain management experience Trade School diploma ASE Certification
