Test/Lab Technician

Our group is workingon an innovative semiconductor technology for power electronics, and developingways to test the devices in application. We need a versatile Lab Technicianwith good hands-on lab skills, some soldering and mechanical assemblyexperience, and ability to work well in a team.

Duties will include:

• Occasional soldering and rework of electronicboards with SMD components
• Assembleand wire test hardware, including cable harness and instrumentation racks
• Conduct simple electrical testing of componentsand boards
• Monitor running test setups and gather/plot data
• Help develop and document simple assembly and testprocedures
• Managean inventory of parts and hardware
• Maintain and restock the soldering stations
• Help with lab equipment calibration, laborganization and orderliness

Required skills

• Must be comfortable or willing to work around highvoltage up to 600VDC
• Solder small components down to 0402 with use ofmagnifier or microscope
• Understand how to use a DMM, digital oscilloscopeand DC power supply for simple troubleshooting
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word todocument test findings and enter data into existing docs.
• Understand basic mechanical fasteners: Screws,nuts, washers
• Can use basic shop tools: Band saw, drill, metalfiles, metal cutters, heat gun, screw hole taps
• Understand simple wire attributes: Wire gaugeand voltage ratings, use of crimp terminals, heat gun, shrink tubing, cableties, etc.
• Ability to work well in a team with goodcommunication skills
• Ability to multitask and change directions whenrequired

• Attention to detail and safety procedures
• Can keep their projects and area relatively well organized

• Must be dependable and willing to work overtimeas needed
