Tacodeli's Kitchen Managers are highly organized and food passionate individuals who ensure our stores operations are maintained, provide consistent food quality direction, and maintain high standards of excellence in food execution.

The Kitchen Manager is instrumental in ensuring an efficient, smooth running shift for our kitchen staff and provides ongoing training and learning for the team. The Kitchen Manager leads by example and uses coaching skills with the BOH staff to consistently achieve results and maintain our uncompromising standards for food quality, cleanliness, customer service, and sanitation.

Location is TBD in Austin, TX for this role (currently Tacodeli has Central, North and South ATX locations).

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**People Development:**

- Continuously develops and trains BOH staff through daily coaching.

- Utilizes BOH training programs as needed with new hires and existing staff.

- Coaches and develops kitchen trainers.

- Oversee the training effort of new staff and coordinate efforts through the training team that yield knowledgeable employees.

**Operations:**

- Responsible for overall operations of the back of house and kitchen area of the restaurant.

- Purchase food and stock to ensure store is well equipped and ready for day to day openings.

- Responsible for staff schedules every two weeks and training of staff on proper food preparation and kitchen safety techniques.

- Serve as a liaison between BOH and Kitchen employees with GM on any execution of food orders.

- Lead by example and hold team accountable for excellence in product quality, consistency of execution, speed of service, store cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.

- Hold teams accountable to proper sanitation standards by reinforcing good practices and correcting bad practices.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**

- Minimum 1 year of restaurant leadership experience.

- Able to communicate in English fluently and as much Spanish as possible.

- Expected to work a minimum of 40 55 hrs per week and work weekends.

- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

- Ability to work cohesively in a team environment as well as perform job functions independently.

- Proven skills in organizing work, attending to detail, giving direction, managing time effectively, and handling multiple tasks in a timely manner.

**Physical/Mental Requirements:**

- Uses personal computer approximately 10 hours a week.

- Ability to stand/walk for 9-10 hours per day.

- Ability to occasionally bend, twist, reach, and lift items up to 50 lbs, including stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, etc.

- Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle to get to/from work, and follow and obey all traffic laws.

- Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music, customer, and employee traffic.

- Must have a strong positive attitude towards guests and employees.
