Roadway Practice Lead

Job Summary

T3 Design Corporation has an immediate opening for a Roadway Practice Lead. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Roadway Practice Lead. The successful candidate will have the proven ability to implement and grow a practice within a region. This position is responsible for complex engineering tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact, and the growth of the roadway design practice in the mid-Atlantic region.

The Roadway Practice Lead will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of our roadway engineering practice. This role requires a strong technical background in roadway design, project management expertise, and the ability to mentor and develop junior staff members. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality projects, building client relationships, and contributing to the growth and success of our firm.

This is a full-time hybrid position reporting to Chief Operating Officer, based in Fairfax, Virginia.

Responsibilities/Duties

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and designers in the planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects.
• Solicit contracts with Roadway tasks.
• Monitor team backlog in relation to the Business Plan, develop workload plans, and identify potential work-sharing opportunities.
• Review proposals (scope development/cost estimates/contracts) before final approval.
• Actively participate in Project Review meetings to manage financial expectations, bolster client relations, and explore project creation opportunities.
• Drive quality within the group and ensure that QA/QC processes are implemented on all projects.
• Perform lead discipline role in proposals and presentations.
• Analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures and develop new approaches and solutions.
• Develop, mentor, coordinate, and grow technical staff.
• Implement recruiting, retention, and training strategies and skills development plans.

Education/Training and Experience

· B.S. in Civil Engineering with at least 15 years of relevant work experience.

· A Professional Engineer license required.

· Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in the mid-Atlantic region is preferred.

· Established relationships with federal, state, and local agencies.

· Experience in civil design of roadways, freeways, and/or interchanges.

· Demonstrated ability to profitably manage roadway projects.

· Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including proposal writing and presentation skills.

· Strong public speaking ability and effective problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse clients and project teams.

· Technical proficiency and ability to manage complex projects.

· Strong practice and/or team-building skills, including planning, budgeting, and risk management.

· Knowledge of the regulatory processes in the mid-Atlantic region. Understanding of local, state, and federal permitting.

Additional Requirements

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
