The ideal candidate for director is a collaborative and dynamic professional who can deploy successful marketing campaigns and develop marketing strategies using internal and external data to achieve the practice's goals for annual and long-term growth. The director will also be responsible for assessing the impact of marketing and sales activities, guiding sales planning, and recommending alternative business solutions. They must combine judgment, extensive experience, and business knowledge to make sound decisions.
Responsibilities:
The director oversees a marketing manager, as well as a team of oncology liaisons responsible for building relationships with referring physicians, collectively focusing on oncology, surgery, and hematology referrals to the practice. In this supervisory capacity, the director provides direction on sales planning, analysis, and targeting and development of territories. In addition, candidates should have creative project management experience, convey an aptitude for staying calm and effective while managing multiple demands, and have experience working in fast-paced and matrixed organizations.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Skilled decision maker with strong emphasis on data, trends, and market analytics; proficient with CRM and business intelligence reporting, preferably Salesforce and Tableau

  • Experience developing and executing marketing strategies to achieve annual and long-term growth
  • Experience with Salesforce and Tableau preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develops and implements a cohesive statewide practice brand identity for all mediums, including print, TV, radio, and digital. Responsible for the ongoing management of the practices brand identity including the education of vendors, employees, referring physicians and the community.
  • Directs the production of all printed marketing collateral, signage, videos website and other digital assets. Liaises with copywriters, content owners, customers, and outside vendors to manage projects, including administrative responsibilities (such as approvals and budgets) required to complete the project.
  • Responsible for executing media requests including drafting public relations materials, coordinating interview requests and responses, and serving as practice spokesperson.
  • Writes requests for proposals, sources for vendors, and negotiates contracts within budgets to achieve business results with approvals.
  • Works closely with corporate practice growth and marketing team on hiring, training assessments, and development of liaisons. Enforces adherence to The US Oncology Network policies.
  • Develops and implements practice growth strategy in core markets and continually foster growth with the practice through liaison and/or marketing activities.
  • Supervises the oncology liaisons (sales team) in their role, including, but not limited to: sales planning, analysis, targeting, reporting, and development of their territories. Ensures referral feedback/issues are addressed appropriately. Work with corporate practice growth training assessments, and development of liaisons team.
  • Work with team to maintain ongoing communications with referring physicians and/or their office staff, including peer-to-peer, routine or follow-up visits, emails, and phone calls.
  • Supports practice growth by the management of liaison efforts through referring practice visits, tumor boards participation, community events, cross-business collaboration, and business-to-business strategy.
  • Assesses and reviews performance of liaisons through regular impact performance reports (both financial and metric based)
  • Supervises the marketing team in their role, including, but not limited to, marketing duties, campaigns, market research, meeting deadlines and KPI. Support marketing collateral as needed for the liaisons team and practice.
  • Supports practice growth efforts through marketing team with community events, tradeshows, sponsorships and overall community outreach direct to patients
  • Utilizes CRM, market analysis, trends, and performance reporting to develop sales/marketing plans, and track practice growth.
  • Supports practice growth efforts through practice visits, tumor boards participation, community events, tradeshows, cross-business collaboration, and business-to-business strategy.
  • Executes administrative duties, including managing budget, travel expenses, and timely completion of expense reports
Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. MBA preferred, but not required. Minimum seven (7) years of marketing and/or sales experience, preferably in a HealthCare environment, with at least 5 years at a management level. Extensive corporate or healthcare marketing work experience with progressively more responsibility required.

Work is performed in an office environment and requires extensive interaction with corporate and network management and outside technical experts and vendors. Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients, outside technical experts, and vendors. May have contact with patients. In-office position and travel between practice sites is required via automobile. This position may require working outside the office in order to call on clients and build relationships.
