Job Summary

Responsible for the operation availability, and maintenance of the MVG System and System of Systems as the program evolves in support of the Navy’s Teleport Program Office (TPO) and NIWC Atlantic. This includes but is not limited to: Cisco Meeting Place and Cisco Call Manager installation, configuration, support and administration. Analyze voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks is required. This will include planning, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites to include configuring communications with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
Travel is required.

Responsibilities and Duties

Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements and supports the acquisition of hardware and software as needed. Provide technical support and troubleshooting to users and perform network administration duties. Provide guidance and mentor the less-experienced network personnel. Maintaining current knowledge of relevant technology i.e. Cisco routers, software etc. as required. Experience with Cisco Unity Voice Mail installation, configuration, support and administration is required. Also, SIP, BGCP and H.323 protocols, Voice Gateway and Gatekeeper installation and administration, Cisco ASA /PIX installation and configuration, IP Telephony Solution Design and support, Microsoft Windows 2008 Server and Microsoft Exchange in an IP telephone environment. Network Engineer will be required to have access to a secure lab, Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) certification is required. The Network Engineer should be familiar with the use of CISCO Smart-Net for vendor communications.

Qualifications and Skills

Required knowledge and years of experience

Must have at least ten (10) years configuring and supporting complex Cisco IP technologies with Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Unity Voice Mail installations configuration, support and administration. Hands on Experience with Cisco 3945 and CISCO 220 Meeting place server. Also, SIP, BGCP and H.323, Cisco ICM. Hands on experience with E&M integration (e.g. Cisco iPIX, land mobile radios). Strong experience troubleshooting Cisco Routers and Switches (2600 and 3800 series). 10 years working with H.323 and SIP. Demonstrate ability to perform complex troubleshooting on the following: FXO/FXS/PRI/T1/DS3 Circuits & Signaling Protocols. Prior experience designing, administering, or supporting datacenter LAN/WAN. Experience configuring and troubleshooting Voice Gateways/Gatekeepers. SQL database experience is a must as well (SQL queries, backups/restores). Knowledgeable of Cisco Call Manager installation, configuration, support and administration. Must be very familiar with Cisco Unity Voice Mail installation, configuration, support and administration. SIP, BGCP and H.323 protocols. Will need to know how to work with Voice Gateway and Gatekeeper installation and administration. Cisco ASA /PIX installation and configuration. Know how to work with IP Telephony Solution Design and support, Microsoft Windows 2008 Server and Microsoft Exchange in an IP telephony environment. Must have excellent documentation, presentation, and problem-solving skills. Including: exceptional communication skills and client-facing skills. Work and collaborate across diverse project teams. Provide consistent and frequent status updates to government management staff. Provide mentoring and support to co-workers.
