Systems Control is Hiring a Sr. Operations Manager Near Mountain, MI

Overview

By supporting the development of the strategic priorities and executing on day-to-day operations across multiple sites, the Sr. Operations Manager will strive to reduce cost, improve quality, increase throughput, and ultimately drive profitability and best-in-class customer satisfaction. The Sr. Operations Manager will continually assess and implement operational improvement opportunities consistent with the company’s overall objectives.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide daily leadership to team members and continuously drive safety culture improvement to ensure safety and wellbeing of the workforce
  • Provide daily leadership to team members and continuously drive operational improvement to reduce cost, improve quality, and ultimately drive profitability and customer satisfaction
  • Lead adoption and use of best practices across all elements of the value chain at multiple site locations
  • Support and implement process standardization across multiple facilities
  • Support critical decision making processes related to manufacturing and maintenance operations, to ensure the most effective return on assets
  • Support the development and execution of strategic planning and business objectives
  • Leverage a KPI and performance metrics-driven environment, where timely, relevant, and accurate information drives timely decision making
  • Ensure production/staffing needs and capacity and resource planning are in line with sale projections and growth targets
  • Create, review, and recommend Capital Equipment Purchases
  • Deliver financial commitments to business operating plans, financial cycles, and medium- to long-term financial frameworks, including:
    • Actively lead the management of all controllable expenses
    • Lead Operations’ participation in the collaborative company forecast process
    • Lead proactive communication on any variances in operational activities to the company forecast
  • Responsible for handling all Union related issues as they arise including, but not limited to: discipline, labor concerns, negotiations, and act as Management Representative in any related meetings

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Business or technical discipline is required.
  • 7-10 years of experience with similar managerial experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union setting

  • Diverse functional experience is highly desired, including supply chain and logistics, manufacturing, design/engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing, data-driven team.
  • Excellent coach and team leader who can champion change.

SKILLS

  • Ability to define and execute an operational strategy requiring close cross-functional coordination
  • Deep experience with Lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Experienced problem-solver
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
