Job Description
The Assistant Director will support the enrollment management of the School of Education graduate programs. Primary responsibilities will include recruiting prospective graduate students and coordinating the admissions process for the School of Education’s master’s, CAS, and doctoral degree programs, which includes on and off campus events and meetings with prospective students.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. Three years of college admissions experience preferred.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Knowledge of current University systems (SLATE, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to travel.
  • Familiarity with academic institutions (higher education and K-12) helpful.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and coordination of the graduate recruiting strategy for School of Education (SOE) graduate programs. Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of the SOE graduate communication plan to prospective and admitted students. Create and update recruitment publications including the graduate catalog. Solicit program input to inform the review and editing of graduate program promotional material.
  • Oversee recruitment communication and provide support for SOE programs in various aspects of the admission processes (e.g., Setting up program interviews when required). Coordinate efforts of the various graduate faculty involved in recruitment in collaboration with Faculty Directors.
  • Generate graduate inquiries by mass mail, email blasts, and social media. Facilitate and when necessary, organize college wide and program level virtual information sessions, including sending out invitations, managing RSVPs, and follow up with SOE program related materials. Coordinate open house activities for prospective students. Communicate with and counsel prospective graduate students regarding program options and application processes via email, phone, zoom, and in-person appointments.
  • Develop and maintain thorough understanding of program requirements as well as policies (international) related to visas and other documentation.
  • Travel for recruitment purposes. Attend recruiting functions sponsored by SU and local feeder colleges and universities. Represent the School of Education graduate programs to the University community and the public.
  • Manage workflow process for graduate applications. Serve as a liaison with the Graduate School. Manage the record keeping of prospective students from inquiry to enrollment. Manage online application process for the School. Train new faculty and refresh training and instructional materials for SLATE. Generate reports as needed.
  • Obtain, track, and analyze admissions data, provide reports to program areas to support their recruitment and admission decision activities, and develop, maintain and interpret data to support recruitment activities and resulting admissions. Compile special reports and gather information as needed by the School and individual programs.
