Job Description
Postdoctoral researcher in experimental biophysics.
Qualifications
PhD in physics, quantitative cell biology, or related field.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research into properties of chromosomes and spindles in mammalian oocytes, and/or self-organization of early embryos.
  • Obtain and culture in vitro living mouse and human oocytes and embryos.
  • Develop novel experimental methods, including quantitative imaging, physical manipulation, and molecular perturbation of oocytes and embryos.
  • Develop theoretical models and perform computer simulations of the mechanical properties of spindles and chromosomes.
  • Perform research duties including: designing new experimental protocols, acquiring experimental data, interpreting, and analyzing collected data, writing manuscripts, and providing input, preliminary data, and written materials for new grant applications.
  • Assist with mentoring undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
