Primary responsibilities
  • Stay updated on market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments to adjust proprietary risk portfolios as needed. Monitor critical macroeconomic issues for their potential impact on risk portfolios and other proprietary investment strategies
  • Lead the development, deployment, and evaluation of proprietary investment strategies including but not limited to ETF-based diversified risk portfolios, income-driven options strategies, alternative investments and custom strategies based on clients’ goals
  • Lead the firm’s Investment Committee which includes monthly meetings to review and evaluate investment ideas, trends, and strategies across all asset classes, propose potential changes to proprietary risk portfolios based on market outlook and generate regular portfolio performance reports for the Investment Committee to review including portfolio returns, sector attributions, risk metrics and benchmark comparisons
  • Serve as technical resource for investment/portfolio-related inquiries by internal teams and existing and prospective clients
  • Present risk portfolio positioning, performance and market insights during client review meetings and respond to investment-related questions
  • Lead in the recruitment and evaluation of analysts and associates on the Investment Management team
  • Supervise and mentor members of the Investment Management team
  • Assist senior leadership with evaluation of prospective clients’ existing portfolios and present recommendations
  • Coordinate monthly discretionary portfolio tax loss harvesting and model rebalances, when appropriate
  • Manage existing client performance report templates and propose enhancements when available
  • Evaluate new investment analytical and reporting software to enhance firm reporting capabilities
  • Ensure that all investment activities comply with firm policies
  • Conduct due diligence on new private funds and other investment opportunities
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of financial markets, investment products (especially ETFs), strategic and tactical asset allocations and alternative investment due diligence
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments affecting the public and private markets
  • Actively identifies, researches, and evaluates new investment opportunities for possible selection to satellite portfolios (e.g., hedging and opportunistic portfolios)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong sense of ownership and genuine desire to help elevate junior team members
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, lean startup environment
  • 10 years of experience in portfolio management either in the private wealth management or single/multi-office spaces
  • 5 years of experience leading risk portfolios and fundamental and technical analyses and managing people
  • Deep knowledge and experience with trading of equity, fixed income, alternative investments and options and other derivatives
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of trading software are required
  • Experience with rebalancer tools in Schwab Advisor Center and Black Diamond are preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or related fields is required, and CFA, CIMA, MBA or other advanced degrees are preferred
  • Series 65 (or equivalent) is required or must pass within 3 months of employment
  • Experience with Schwab Advisor Center, Right Capital, Black Diamond are preferred
  • In-office attendance is required with optional WFH on Fridays
  • Ability to work in the U.S. without need of visa sponsorship for work authorization now or anytime in the future is required
