Syntron Material Handling is Hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Manager Near Saltillo, MS
- Direct the departmental strategy and daily activities of Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance/Facilities, and HSE Manager, by professionally challenging current and/or traditional ways of thinking and lead new ways and/or approaches.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing and distribution processes, workflow, and layouts to improve efficiencies, flexibility, scalability, reduce waste and increase productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain, to understand business requirements and identify areas for improvement by implementing solutions.
- Responsible for identifying, chartering, and leading significant capital projects and improvement initiatives – delivering the project results on time and within budget. This includes managing any subcontractors if required.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles, Six-Sigma methodologies, and other best practices to drive operational excellence and achieve cost savings.
- Conduct root cause analysis, performing diagnostics, and troubleshooting equipment.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related cost to provide information for management decisions.
- Propose modifications to product design aimed at enhancing both manufacturability and quality control standards.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to track progress, identify trends, and drive data-driven decision-making.
- Establish departmental policies and procedure and create or modify work instructions in accordance with the QMS.
- Train and mentor Engineering staff on manufacturing engineering concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
- Conduct annual performance reviews.
- Monitor employee’s time and PTO approval.
- BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in an Engineering role within a metal fabrication facility preferred.
- 5-10 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Formal training in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights and recommendations.
- Knowledge of quality systems in an ISO9015 environment.
- Strong project management skills.
