- This role will be expected to plan, direct, and improve the manufacturing process for optimal and efficient
production operation and use of company assets. - Indicate the minimum qualifications an employee must have in order to perform the duties of the position (i.e. educational requirements, licenses, certification, work experience training etc.).
- BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)
- MINIMUM 10 years’ experience in an Engineering role within a metal fabrication facility preferred.
- 5-10 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Formal training in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop
actionable insights and recommendations. - Knowledge of quality systems in an ISO9015 environment.
- Strong project management skills
- Responsible for the department’s budgets and capital projects from start to finish. Must be able to coach and mentor supervisors and employees
- Direct the departmental strategy and daily activities of Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance/Facilities, and HSE Manager, by professionally challenging current and/or traditional ways of thinking and lead new ways and/or approaches
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize manufacturing and distribution processes, workflow, and layouts to improve efficiencies, flexibility, scalability, reduce waste and increase productivity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Logistics, and Supply Chain, to understand
business requirements and identify areas for improvement by implementing solutions. - Champion continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles, Six-Sigma
methodologies, and other best practices to drive operational excellence and achieve cost savings - Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics to track progress, identify
trends, and drive data-driven decision-making
