Overview

Synaptics is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our dynamic and growing organization to assist in the accounting operations of the company. This includes participation in the monthly close process, preparation of general ledger journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Additionally, you will assist in preparation of the financial statements to be included in our filings with the SEC (10-Q and 10-K). This is a hands-on role and is ideal for an individual who has experience with a Big 4 Accounting Firm or with a publicly traded company. This is a great opportunity for any potential candidate that is looking to gain experience in the areas of the general ledger, operational accounting, technical accounting, and SEC reporting. The position reports to the Assistant Corporate Controller.

The typical base pay range for this position is USD $80,000 - $126,500 per year. Individual pay is determined by many factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus, equity, and other benefits. Note that compensation listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

Responsibilities

Job Duties

General Ledger:

• Perform various general ledger month-end and quarter-end closing procedures, preparation of journal entries, and supporting the senior accounting manager throughout the close process
• Support the period close consolidation process
• Perform various account reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Prepare balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis
• Assist in preparing internal and external financial reporting schedules
• Ad hoc accounting projects, as needed

SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting:

• Member of the Financial Reporting function, including preparation of the Company’s quarterly (Form 10-Q) and annual (Form 10-K) financial statements, review of XBRL, and other financial reports (such as quarterly earnings releases, proxy filings, registration statements)
• Support for all financial statement disclosures
• Assistance in the administration of reporting calendars, including cross functional coordination of key deliverables
• Support review of significant contracts for accounting implications
• Support the Company's annual impairment testing of goodwill and acquired intangibles
• Support the technical accounting of all stock-based compensation, EPS, and equity accounting
• Provide support to prepare technical accounting memorandums on certain transactions on an as-needed basis
• Stay updated on accounting standards and regulations and ensure compliance with changes that may impact the organization.
• Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field, or equivalent
• Active CPA license preferred (in process of obtaining CPA license is acceptable)
• 5 years public accounting and/or corporate accounting experience in multi-national public companies
• Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills
• Experience with Oracle strongly preferred, but not required
• SEC, public company reporting experience (10-Qs, 10-Ks, etc.) preferred
• SOX controls experience preferred but not required
• No travel required
