Sylvamo is Hiring a Human Resources Specialist Near Eastover, SC

Human Resources Specialist PL 5; starting base salary in the mid 50’s to low 60’s commensurate with relevant experience, education and training Eastover’s HR Specialist supports approximately 650 employees in a mill with High Performance Work Systems. This “hands-on” position requires significant interaction and visibility to all levels of the organization, departments, and all shifts in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include administering people processes for Eastover team members, from selection through retirement and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements while ensuring a positive team member experience. This is an exciting career opportunity for a Human Resources Professional who desires to influence results for the customers they support. The HR Specialist reports to the HR Manager. Required Minimum Qualifications Include:· Demonstrated experience in positions that required: o integrity and administration of highly confidential informationo accuracy in work while under time pressureo project management skillso planning skills that incorporate potential problem avoidance o ability to apply good judgement to situations that fall outside policy and procedure guidanceo excellent organizational, time management and prioritizing skillso courage to challenge all levels of leadership to maintain integrity in mill and company people processeso impartial administration of people processes across areas and team members · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills:o ability to communicate with and build relationships with a broad array of peopleo easily keeps lots of people highly informed and up to the minuteo positively interact with leadership at all levels o demonstrated ability to facilitate team member concerns to resolution· Demonstrated use of computer tools for trending, analysis and reporting:o strong computer experience using Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlooko track, organize, analyze and report data for leaders to make key people decisions· Demonstrated conscientious work ethic:o continuously monitoring people processes to avoid delays for team memberso take laptop home with VPN access; carry company phone to respond to people issues outside regular work hours when neededo availability to move people processes forward evenings and weekends when needed; work overtime when needed· High School diploma/GED Preferred Qualifications Include:5 years HR experience:o experience with Ceridian Dayforce or a similar HRIS systemo administration of employee leave processes through a third party administrator (i.e., FMLA, sick leave/salary continuation, etc.)o administration of recruiting and selection processes, promotion processes, performance management systems, people policy administration, and workforce planningo experience tracking people processes and sharing information with management o maintenance of human resources record retention requirements based on Records Retention Compliance o proactively audit personnel administrative steps, policy and procedure application and reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and IP core values. Keeps abreast of employment related regulatory provisions. o interpret and answer inquires related to HR policies and procedures, and counsel and educate team members while ensuring consistency and reinforcing adherence as appropriate o balance daily administration of people processes with intense preparation, support and administration of infrequently occurring people processes, both planned and unplanned (ex: regulatory audits, affirmative action, business people projects and requests for information, people reviews, forecasting/budgeting, etc.) o work with and through third party administrators of benefits and people processes; support HR Reps and team members and escalate cases as neededo experience working in a union free 24/7 manufacturing environment o experience working at a site with high performance work systemso develop, propose and implement people related work system improvementso Responsibility for HR projects as assignedo Relevant post high school education; degree, certification or training (ex: Office Administration, HR, SHRM, CEBs, Employee Relations, Ceridian Dayforce, ADA, FMLA, time and attendance system, etc.)Core competencies to succeed in the HR Specialist position include:Ethic and Values, Action Oriented, Timely Decision Making, Decision Quality, Organizing, Perseverance, Priority Setting, Problem Solving, Drive for Results, Time Management, Customer Focus, Integrity & Trust, Interpersonal Savvy, Listening, Peer Relationships, Dealing with Ambiguity, Functional/Technical Skills, Learning on the Fly, Self-Development, Technical Learning, Planning.
