Job Description

Sweetwater Canyon Development LLC dba Malibu Gold is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The position will work closely with our team to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirement compliance, process accounts payable & receivable as well as manage invoices and tax payments. The ideal candidate is familiar with accounting software packages, like QuickBooks, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products. Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibility will be to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company as well as to work closely with the Inventory Manager along with certain other co-responsibilities. The position will require working closely with our Senior Management and all areas of the business, with strong growth potential.

About Us

Sweetwater Canyon Development LLC dba Malibu Gold is one of the premier cannabis producers on the West Coast and has both a cultivation and distribution business. The Santa Ana based producer was the first licensed cannabis cultivation operation in Orange County California and has been operating its state-of-the-art cultivation facility since 2019.

Responsibilities

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Verify that transactions are recorded in the correct categories, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger.
• Bring the books to the trial balance stage.
• Perform partial checks of the posting process.
• Complete tax forms and/or payments.
• Enter data, time tracking, maintain records such as lunch-time reports and financial statements.
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll in a timely manner.
• Assist our Inventory Manager in reconciling inventory.

Requirements

• Proven bookkeeping experience.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
• Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
• General knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Comfortable handling cash transactions.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Experience:

• Bookkeeping: 1 year of experience preferred.
• Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required.
• Alcohol or pharmaceutical industry experience a plus.

Work Location: Onsite, In person.
