Job Title: Dishwasher

Location: Sweet Encounter Bakery, Lansing, MI

Reports to: Bakery Manager

The Sweet Encounter Bakery seeks a Dishwasher who will maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen operations. This role ensures a steady supply of clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, contributing to a smooth and hygienic dining experience for our patrons.

Responsibilities:

1. Collect used kitchenware from the dining and kitchen areas

3. Wash specific items by hand, such as wooden cutting boards large pots, and cutlery

4. Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately

5. Set up workstations before meal prep begins

6. Maintain cleaning supplies stock and notify Manager if supplies are low

8. Cleans and maintains all baking equipment and utensils hygienically and organized.

9. Remove garbage regularly and sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor.

9. Follows food safety and quality standards following state and local regulations.

Requirements:

1. Previous work experience as a Dishwasher or in a similar role preferred

2. Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks as needed.

3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

4. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

5. Good time management skills

6. Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.

7. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment.

Education Requirements/Skills:

1. High School diploma or GED

2. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

3. Food handling certification is a plus but not required. (must obtain within 30 days of employment)

Compensation/Benefits:

• Starting at $11/hr.

• 30-40 hours a week (no overtime unless approved in advance by management)

• Six month and yearly reviews; opportunity for pay raise
