Responsibilities:
- Accurate preparation of patient medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, unit dose, cartfills, TPN, narcotics
- Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications
- Timely delivery and retrieval of patient medications
- Inventories, replenishes, and maintains drug stock which includes automated dispensing cabinets
- Adherence to Dept. Policies
- Assist the Pharmacist with medication/patient care related issues
Position Requirements:
- Prior experience, as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or community setting or graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician program is required
- Understanding of metric system and basic math concepts is required.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification and Ohio State Board of Pharmacy registration required
- Replenishes and delivers drug boxes as required
- Inventories assigned area daily, replenishes, and maintains drug stock
- Removes and replaces all outdated inventory in assigned areas
- Notifies purchasing area when stock has been exhausted or outdated
- Retrieves needed medications from Storeroom when required
- Replenishes automated dispensing cabinets as required
- Maintains work space including but not limited to replenishing stock, checking for outdates, and ordering.
