MORE ON THE ROLE:

The Kitchen Manager oversees a team of 7- 9 cooks and kitchen assistants in a commercial kitchen located in White Bear Lake. The team produces and delivers lunch and dinner for roughly 200 clients living in our supportive housing programs in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

The Food Service team works together to come up with menu ideas, plan special meals, and ensure clients get their meals!

Specific duties will include:

• Supervising your team, ensuring they are effectively trained and properly equipped for the role
• Creating and managing the schedule
• Achieving successful results in department deliverables
• Ensuring the kitchen complies with all codes and passes all inspections
• Creating and maintaining positive and professional relationships with vendors and stakeholders
• Designing cost-effective menus and completing weekly food orders
• Ensuring all meals are prepared and delivered on time per standards
• Maintaining all kitchen appliances and equipment

SOME IMPORTANT QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least one year of management experience required, 3 years preferred
• Food service experience required
• SafeServe certificate preferred
• Strong computer proficiency required
• Driver's license and clean driving record required

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION 

• $50,000 - $60,000 annually, depending on experience
• 5 days a week, generally working M-F with some weekend flexibility

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Strength/Weight guidelines: lift & carry 50 lbs
• Motion Parameters: walking, standing, bending, twisting, climbing stairs multiple times a day
• Vision/Hearing requirements: client communication
• Work environment: indoor commercial kitchen, indoor program outdoor bbqs
