POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Court Executive Officer or designee, the Human Resources Manager leads a full-service human resources operation, and plans, coordinates and directs the activities of the Human Resources Department (“HR”). The manager also provides professional advice and counsel to the courts' management and supervisory staff in resolution of HR issues; engages in meaningful employee relations with bargaining units and develops and administers up-to-date policies and procedures.
SCOPE
The Human Resources Manager must possess a broad knowledge of various human resources functions and possess a comprehensive understanding of laws, regulations and practices specific to employee and labor relations. The incumbent must have strong analytical skills and superior communication skills, both oral and written. The Human Resources Manager must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with judicial officers, managers, supervisors, employees, union officials, representatives of outside organizations and members of the public.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in human resources management, industrial organizational psychology, or a closely related field
AND
Experience:Requires four (4) or more years of professional human resources work experience
Driver’s License: Possession of a valid California driver’s license may be required

Hearing and speaking are needed to listen effectively and to talk with individuals in person and by phone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability of adjust focus.
The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, and move from place to place within the office. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds and reach for items above and below desk level. Lifting of objects weighing in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds will require team lifting. The noise and traffic level in the work environment are similar to a busy business office.
Normal business hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position is FLSA exempt and is not eligible for over-time.
