EVOA Propulsion is an EV systems developer and integrator of advanced electric architectures for the marine industry. EVOA is looking for a software/calibration engineer to join a fast-paced and growing team. The responsibilities of this role will be diverse and include leading the effort to standardize the calibration of the electric vessels EVOA is developing. Calibration responsibilities will include taking an existing software platform and creating calibration procedure documents for each vessel and then completing that calibration work. Other responsibilities will include driving developments of new software functions to meet new regulatory or customer needs. EVOA is looking for a hardworking self-starter that can take charge and recognize tasks at hand.

Additional Description Responsibilities:

• Develop and analyze Electric Propulsion software functions and algorithms in Simulink for new customer/regulatory features in advanced recreation watercraft.
• Develop and optimize calibrations to meet performance and safety requirements
• Conduct fault tree analysis to understand failure modes and software behavior
• Conduct calibration reviews to ensure high-quality calibrations
• Organize, plan, and coordinate calibration activities Engineering Director and ABYC Compliance Specialist
• Support identification of requirements for resources to develop calibrations
• Diagnose and correct vehicle, system, and controls deficiencies
• Support resolution of vehicle or customer issues
• Develop and utilize analytical tools to develop & verify calibrations
• Develop, use, and update calibration procedures
• Participate in controls development process and support algorithm development
• Participate in development trips and conduct test activities
• Work with other engineer and customers to achieve desired system functionality
• Utilize change management software to track revisions and software/cal updates

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent discipline
• Independent worker requiring little direction and works well in a team environment
• Excellent planner and complex problem solver
• High level of oral and written communication skills
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis
• Working knowledge of Matlab/Simulink, C, C , or Python and comfortable using software development tools
• Knowledge of and passion for electrification propulsion system architectures
• Understanding of change management and applications (GIT preferred)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with vehicle control systems doing development, testing, or calibration
• Experience/passion in boating and/or water sports
• Masters of Engineering or equivalent discipline
• Two years of post-graduation engineering experience
• Controls and/or calibration experience
• Experience with tools commonly used in calibration: Raptor Cal, INCA, CAN bus diagnostics, Matlab/Simulink
