Job Summary:

The Senior Research Support Specialist will join the newly established Todd Lab in the Center for Vision Research. This regenerative neuroscience lab is focused on developing strategies to regenerate neurons to combat blinding diseases. The laboratory uses a variety of molecular and cellular neuroscience techniques and mouse genetics and works on additional topics in glial biology and neuroimmunology. The Senior Research Support Specialist will be responsible for ordering lab equipment, supplies, reagents and contribute to the maintenance of the transgenic mouse colony and performing experiments. Duties related to the mouse colony include breeding animals, PCR-genotyping, and accurate record keeping of the colony. Experimental duties revolve around assistance with in vivo regeneration experiments, including retinal dissections, tissue sectioning, immunohistochemistry, tissue imaging and analysis, and flow cytometry. Applicants with interest or experience in bioinformatics are welcome to apply and opportunities to assist in the analysis of single-cell genomics are available. The applicant should possess strong written and verbal communication skills and will be involved in helping train rotation students and new lab members and contribute to weekly lab meetings. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in biology, neuroscience or related field and 2 years of experience working in a research laboratory or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with mice.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in bioinformatics and flow cytometry.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday; 9:00 - 5:00; Variable depending on experiments
