The Residence Director/Assistant Director for Residential Programming is a 12-month, full-time, live-in, staff member of the Student Affairs Division reporting to the Director of College Housing. This staff member is responsible for establishing and maintaining an atmosphere in an assigned residence hall that promotes the educational, cultural, social, and personal development of SUNY Poly Utica campus students. Responsibilities include planning and executing a broad array of assigned residential programs, created and adapted regularly by surveying student interests and evaluating the success of programs. The Assistant Director assists with retention efforts including one-on-one coaching meetings with students who are not making satisfactory academic progress or are struggling with meeting community standards of behavior and engagement. This staff member will have an important role in the planning and executing residential programs and staff development. Evening and weekend responsibilities are an essential component of the position. Other reasonable duties as assigned.
