Lube Technician Non-ExemptJob Summary:In this role, a Lube Technician inspects, maintains, and repairs vehicles. A Lube Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance services on vehicles, including oil changes, tire changes, and other fluid checks. As with all positions within dealerships, Technicians are expected to uphold the highest ethical standards. Essential Functions:Making sure moving parts of the vehicle are lubricated as neededKeeping accurate records of all maintenance services performedInjecting grease into units, such as springs, universal joints and steering knuckles, using hand-or compressed air-powered grease gunInspecting fluid level of steering gears, power steering reservoirs, transmission differentials, and rear axle housings and shacklesChecking air pressure of tires, adding water to the radiator, testing the battery, replacing oil and air filters, inspection and or replacement of cabin filter and wipersDraining oil and refilling crankcase with the correct amount of new lubricantWorking alongside a skilled technician to learn how to perform quality vehicle service maintenance repairsPerform brake, tire, and vehicle inspections and complete a Vehicle Inspection Report with accurate information supplied to the customerAdditional duties may be assigned as needed Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalentValid Driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California within 30 daysAbility to lift up to 30 poundsAbility to perform all essential functions of the job description Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working on motor vehiclesPossess mechanical aptitude and knowledge of how automobiles workCompletion of National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), a certified technical training program in automotive technology at a high school or at a community college, as the best preparation for entry-level positionsExcellent mechanical repair skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to visually diagnose mechanical issuesProficient with computer diagnostic equipment and softwareAbility to read service and repair manualsAbility to perform repairs in a timely fashionAbility to read work ordersLubrication Technicians should possess mechanical aptitude and knowledge of how automobiles work Physical Demands: Regularly stands, walks, sits; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; talks and hears.
