Experienced Medical Assistant position is needed for an OB/GYN practice located in Plantation, Florida.

Medical Assistant Job Description:

* Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height. EMR System: Intergy / Greenway

* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for providers.

* Collect blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.

* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider.

* Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets and providers' instructions to patients.

* Help providers examine and treat patients, hand them instruments and materials or performing such tasks as giving injections and removing sutures.

* Process medications refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies as directed by providers.

* Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.

* Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.

* Inventory and order medical and labs

* Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.

* Set up and maintain medical equipment including laboratory equipment, EKG, scales, BP cuffs and other standard equipment.

* Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.

* Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

* Prepare Medical Chart and Schedule Appointments

* Must be able to travel (local)

Qualifications:

1-2 years experience as a Certified Medical Assistant

1 year of OB/GYN experience preferred
