Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating, project management, structural engineering specification and project manuals. As chief estimator, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the estimation process and ensuring accurate and competitive bids.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize software such as Planswift and Bluebeam for construction estimating
- Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to obtain the best prices
- Develop accurate cost estimates for construction projects
- Monitor and control project costs throughout the lifecycle
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts
- Read and understand structural engineering plans and project manuals.
- Manage the entire estimating process from initial bid to final contract award
Experience:
- Proven experience in construction estimating and project management
- Proficiency in Planswift or Bluebeam software for estimating purposes
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable contract terms and pricing
- Knowledge of cost control techniques in construction projects
- Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
