JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Finance Director – Corporate Controls FLSA STATUS: ExemptREPORTS TO: Vice President of Finance SUMMARYThis position is responsible for managing Summit’s global finance activities including managing the monthly close, monthly financial reporting/consolidation, accounting activities, shared services, and special studies. The Global Corporate Controller will be tasked with recommending and implementing global control and process improvement projects. The position will also coordinate with external auditors to ensure the timely and accurate completion of finance activities. Summit’s global scope includes operations in the United States, Mexico, China, Hong Kong and Vietnam. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESFinancial Reporting and Consolidation Lead the implementation of a new consolidation system (OneStream or equivalent)Coordinate monthly financial reporting and consolidation processPrepare monthly statements for review with senior management teamManage global process to ensure consistency between affiliatesEstablish global best practices to ensure data qualityOptimize global reporting activitiesProvide financial analysis to help drive decision making with SummitAccounting ActivitiesManage the monthly close process on a global basisManage the global Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, & Payroll activitiesMonitor fixed asset accounting to ensure accuracyDirect the revenue accounting teamEstablish global accounting standardsEnsure account reconciliations are completed timelyInvestigate technical US GAAP issues as requiredAudit internal controls to ensure adequacy and complianceFinancial Planning & AnalysisCoordinate the global review and consolidation of the annual budget and forecastsManage performance management process for all locations and corporate departmentsImprove FP&A reporting and toolsStreamline all FP&A processesSpecial StudiesLead special studies to allow senior management to address areas of critical needEnsure accounting systems adequately highlight key issuesPropose improvements to existing accounting systemsManage system migrations as necessaryOther duties as assigned by management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEFive years experience as a senior global finance and accounting leaderMBA or equivalent preferredCPA or equivalent preferredSKILLS AND ABILITIES:Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate global finance activitiesExperience developing accounting strategiesExcellent organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to lead a global organization TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSThis position typically does require up to 25% travel. DISCLAIMERThe information contained in this job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor are they intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to do the job.
