Job Summary

Summit Pointe is the community mental health service program (“CMHSP”) for the county of Calhoun (Michigan). As a CMHSP, Summit Pointe provides supports and services to its customers addressing a wide-variety of behavioral, developmental, and mental health challenges, including, for example, psychological and clinical counseling, substance-use-disorder treatment and counseling, crisis intervention, case management, autism services, and many others.

Intensive Crisis Stabilization Services provide crisis intervention to youth and families residing in Calhoun County. Team members work collaboratively to de-escalate crisis situations, develop safety plans, and connect youth and families for ongoing support and/or treatment. The ICS team is a subset of the youth services continuum and team members work hand in hand with other youth providers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists with crisis intervention strategies for the stabilization of an individual/family’s current crisis situation within our community.
• Completion of safety planning.
• Completes referrals for additional services.
• Completes level of care assessment tools to assess for ongoing services.
• Collaborates with community agencies to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintains record compliance according to agency guidelines and standards as well as funding source regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

Licensing Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED

Basic Qualifications

• One year experience working with youth/families experiencing severe emotional/intellectual/developmental disabilities.
• Qualify for and retain a Summit Pointe driving permit.
• Must be able to work within a team setting.
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must support a trauma informed culture of safety to aid customers in their recovery process.

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of computer experience – Word, Excel and electronic medical record software preferred

Physical Requirements

• Possible exposure to health risks (including violence from customers and infectious diseases).
