Summit Healthcare Inc. is Hiring a Manager of Nutritional Services Near Show Low, AZ

Seeking an experienced Dietary Manager to become part of our team at Summit Healthcare! Must have prior experience in a hospital setting, possess exceptional leadership abilities, and demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact!

General Position Summary:

Responsible for the coordination of services provided by the personnel in the Nutritional Services Department to meet the dietary requirements of patients, staff and physicians affiliated with Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

Enters and monitors time cards

Performs 30/90 day and yearly evaluations in collaboration with Director

Scheduling of staff to volumes

Assists with conflict resolutions between staff and departments.

·Functions as a resource person for staff; mentors and coaches.

·Collaborates with Directors/Supervisors and Clinical Nurse Leaders to meet unit operational goals and optimize patient care outcomes.

·Functions as a liaison between departments to maximize effective communication and teamwork.

·Prepares and monitors yearly budget with Nutritional Services Director or Administrator

·Oversees ordering of supplies and equipment in collaboration with Director.

·Supervises staff in every role involving kitchen operations.

·Peer interviews new applicants

·Teaches or facilitates orientation for new hires.

·Communicates and reports quality and/or risk management concerns.

·Supports and performs various departmental duties

·Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the Service Standard Behavior Guidelines.

·Promotes the Patient Safety Standards as a core value of the organization.

Secondary Functions:

·Participates in departmental and hospitalwide informational meetings and inservices, including staff meetings, hospitalwide forums, and seminars.

·Reviews department and hospitalwide policies and procedures annually.

·All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility:

·Delegates appropriately and provides supervision in the provision of service to patients, staff and physicians within the Nutritional Services Department.

Contacts:

·Are normally made with others both inside and outside the hospital.

·Are usually made with own department staff and supervisor as well as with other departments or locations.

·Frequently contain confidential/sensitive information necessitating discretion at all times.

·Are usually face-to-face, with some contact by telephone and e-mail.

·Are usually with patients, staff, and physicians.

Specific Job Skills & Mental Activities:

This position requires a working knowledge of various clinical, financial, operational, and satisfaction functions. This employee must be service-oriented and have excellent communication, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership skills, professional interpersonal skills, independent judgment skills, basic math skills, computer skills, multitasking skills, and time management skills. This position also requires knowledge of the Hospital Information Systems and department specific equipment. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Education, Licensures, and/or Experience:

·High school diploma or equivalent (required).

·Basic computer skills (required).

·CPR/BLS certification (required).

·Minimum five years’ experience in nutritional services field (hospital required)

·Two years in a supervisory capacity (required).

Physical Demands & Job Conditions:

Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. The worker is exposed to contact with chemicals and infectious fluids, heavy lifting, constant standing, on-call status, and encounters with upset/disturbed individuals.

Physical motions include finger dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, crawling, talking, reaching, feeling, sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing, grasping, listening/hearing, handling, lifting up to 20-50 pounds, and repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and feet.

This is a safety sensitive position
