Department Overview:

The Americas Division (“AD”) was established in the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited, New York Branch) (“SMTBNY”) to perform corporate functions and supervise U.S. entities. Established under the AD are the “Global Banking Unit (“GBU”), Americas Division” and “Global Markets Unit (“GMU”), Americas Division” which performs business functions. Information Technology (“ITD”) provides the users of the Branch’s information systems with sufficient and appropriate system resources and functionality to complete their day-to-day business and keeps security and consistency of the important information that is stored in the systems.

Position Overview:

Knowledgeable on the day-to-day activities, resolves complex issues where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines, and practice. May be considered a subject matter expert for one or more functions or processes. Focus on operational execution and occasional broader planning within areas of expertise. Mentors junior staff on security monitoring matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Monitoring and analyzing security logs and alerts
2. Review 3^rd-party vendors’ activities for cloud computing services via vendor-provided periodic reports
3. Escalation of detected suspicious activity to IRG and/or ITD.
4. Participate as a member of the Incident Response Team
5. Assist with the maintenance and administration of security monitoring tools
6. Identify opportunities to streamline and perhaps automate repetitive processes and tasks to enhance security operations efficiency.
7. Stay up-to-date on latest cyber security threats and trends
8. Mentor junior analysts within SOC
9. Liaises with vendors and contractors as needed
10. Assists with various audits and examinations.
11. Acts as liaison for vendor subject matter experts for certain security monitoring tools
12. Maintains written procedures and documentation for monitoring-related processes.
13. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Technology Risk, Information Security, or a comparable fieldwith 5 years of experience in an Information Technology role
2. Strong understanding of security principles and concepts
3. Experience with security monitoring and analysis tools
4. Experience with incident investigation and response
5. Excellent communication and problem solving skills
6. Experience with threat intelligence
7. Experience with Cloud Security
8. Experience with security automation
9. Experience with Compliance
10. Familiar with Linux, Microsoft Server and Active Directory.
11. Understanding of Network administrator and LAN concepts
12. Basic Knowledge of Amazon AWS architecture and operations
13. Knowledge of SIEM Tool
14. Knowledge of AI Behavioral Analysis Tool
15. Knowledge of Privileged Account Management concepts
16. Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
17. Financial institution working experience preferred.
