We are a subsidiary of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), one of the leading global banks in Japan.Our Capital Markets business is an established derivatives dealer with a broad product portfolio, with specific emphasis on interest rates and foreign exchange. We have been in operation for more than 30 years and are a leading market-maker in several markets.

The Trading Risk & Control group in Capital Markets is seeking a highly motivated candidate who wants to begin their career in an interest rate derivative trading floor. This Analyst position provides you a unique opportunity to learn all aspects of trading interest rate derivatives. Given the small size of the trading group, you will be working on a wide-range of derivatives simultaneously, such as swaps, options, FX and credit products.

Responsibilities

The role is part of the trading group and coverage includes products in all major currencies.

• This is a challenging role in which a motivated candidate will be able to contribute from day 1.
• Assist traders in performing market analysis and analyze trading strategies.
• The candidate will support in daily risk and P&L reconciliation and create EOD reports for traders and focus more on Options Desk.
• Monitor daily curve (rates, FX basis and tenor basis curves) and volatility (cap and swaption) calibration to ensure EOD books are marked correctly.
• Run daily stress tests for the options desk and send out daily reports summarizing the results, along with market commentary.
• Play a major role in inputting the new tickets into the system and have it ready for EOD pnl and risk in the book.
• Work with middle and back office groups to resolve any portfolio discrepancies and make improvements to daily processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master Degree in Finance / Economics / Math / Engineering, or a related area.
• Up to 3 years of internships or work experience in Banking / Financial Services, with knowledge of interest rate derivatives. 
• Strong analytical background and desire to learn and excel.
• Programming knowledge in Python, Visual Basic (VBA) is required.
