Job Description Head, Internal Communications & Engagement As the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement, you will partner with the Chief, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Officer to lead a team in deepening connections between our employees, our families and our scholars and Success Academy’s mission, strategy and priorities. You’ll develop and drive Employee Communications efforts for teachers and education professionals, and non-instructional and network staff – in support of a wide range of initiatives including: business updates, change management programs and other People led efforts. You will also bring your passion and expertise to develop and oversee an engaging communications strategy to inform families and students. You will interact with colleagues and leaders at all levels. You will provide counsel, shape messaging objectives, plans and tactics to ensure that all employee messaging is aligned and coordinated, across the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic storyteller and culture shaper who has strong team management skills and experience working in close partnership with senior leadership in a highly matrixed organization to develop and execute world-class internal communications and engagement programs. Above all, you will be part of a dynamic, communications team that has a passion for creating content that engages, informs and educates our colleagues. You Will • Report to the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer and be based in our New York City Office • Collaborate with the broader Human Capital, Marketing, Schooling, Learning and Operations teams, among others, to effectively communicate enterprise-wide changes, policy rollouts, and any information relevant to your key audiences with a strong focus on attracting and retaining talent, families and students • Maintain editorial control over all employee communication channels (i.e., digital newsletters, corporate emails, message boards, etc) • Assess existing communication channels and identify areas of opportunity • Develop and track metrics to assess effectiveness of employee communications • Work with senior executives to develop their communications, including written materials and speaking points • Think, plan and execute on multiple projects simultaneously and work with colleagues in an intense, fast-paced environment • Develop, deliver and target messaging to a broad audience, demonstrating an enthusiasm for creative, meaningful channel implementation You Have • 15 years of professional experience in a strategic internal communications role • Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to implement sound judgment • Proven track record creating effective, innovative communications channels and programs • Outstanding organizational and project management skills; ability to execute with speed, accuracy and efficiency • Track record of working effectively and forming relationships with senior members of an organization • Ability to thrive and pivot in fast paced situations by projecting confidence and authority to senior business leaders • Work across functions to influence, manage, and drive communication narratives across the internal organization • The ability to be a true story teller with a deep understanding and drive to foster a richly diverse, equitable and fearlessly inclusive culture through impactful communication • Team management experience • Exceptional writing and editing skills • Crisis communications and issues management • Experience in partnering across large, highly collaborative internal teams • Fluency across social media channels Compensation Range Annual Salary: $175,000.00 - $225,000.00 Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
