Job Description:
As one of the top schools in the city and state, we take great pride in offering high quality programming to all scholars. As an After-school Associate, you will be responsible for continuing this expectation after school by creating a safe, consistent and engaging environment for participating scholars.
Under direction of the Site Coordinator and with guidance by the school leadership team, you will implement our after school program model which includes homework support, and activities time (independent and cooperative learning games, puzzles and activities). This role will require you to work effectively with students and families through creating a safe, healthy and positive learning environment.
Eligible candidates should feel motivated to learn SA’s behavior management strategies and implementation expectations and display strong interpersonal skills so that they are confident leaders in the classroom. The program will serve students in grade Kindergarten through fourth grade, requiring qualified individuals to work well with students of different ages, backgrounds and abilities. We expect the After-School Associate to maintain effective working relationships with program and school personnel and follow all program policies and procedures. Candidates should feel confident in their ability to interact and support scholar understanding of academic content, including elementary mathematics and reading comprehension.
A background in education or major in Education is not required. Experience assisting with implementation of children and/or youth programs and activities preferred.
