The Parts Manager will join our Syracuse Branch and be responsible for the operational success and profitability of the Syracuse Parts operations. This is a full-time position and pay will be competitive based on education-level and experience.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Provide effective leadership to the parts sales team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting collaboration.
· Train and mentor parts staff, ensuring product knowledge and excellent customer interactions.
· Identify growth opportunities, expand parts sales, and contribute to revenue generation.
· Develop and maintain customer relationships.
· Oversee and take part in consistent customer and prospect outreach.
· Ensure all team members influence and promote customer satisfaction, service, and support.
· Resolve customer problems to restore and promote good public relations.
· Coordinate and assist with the service of walk-in customers and handle incoming parts department phone calls fulfilling order inquiries and requests accurately and promptly.
· Approve and assist with special order processing for customers and other departments ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to.
· Direct the upkeep and maintenance of showroom, lobby, and entrance areas to keep fully stocked and cleaned.
· Coordinate year-end parts inventory counts and conduct cycle counts and complete internal parts audits.
· Monitor inventory items with high turnover rates and advise purchasing team when ordering is necessary.
· Other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership.
Back Parts Counter Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with the service department on efficient distribution of parts to mechanics during workday by directing Back Parts Counter Representative and Warehouse team.
· Ensure that each work order remains updated at the time parts are handed to mechanics
· Analyze customer-approved estimates in coordination with the Service team for future work to anticipate parts needs and schedule appropriate delivery times
Qualifications
· Strong written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional computer/inventory management system familiarity.
· Strong customer service and sales experience.
· Experience/Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related discipline preferred
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Parts Management or related role with an emphasis on inventory controls in a heavy-duty trailer/truck/truck equipment environment.
· Must have a clean driving record and valid driver’s license
