STRIVE Fresh Start is a STRIVE-operated program designed to address the full range of challenges involved in helping formerly incarcerated adults make successful transitions back to their local communities and economies. Building on STRIVE’s innovative service model and well-established career readiness supports, STRIVE Birmingham will design and pilot a comprehensive, community-integrated re-entry programs that will aim to provide services to approximately 50-100 adults a year, ages 25 and older, once fully implemented. 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Manager will oversee and support successful program operations of the STRIVE Fresh Start Program at STRIVE Birmingham to deepen the initiative's impact throughout STRIVE's network. The Program Manager will be responsible for developing program- specific structures and policies to meet the needs of program participants and key stakeholders while maintaining fidelity to the STRIVE Fresh Start service delivery model. Success in this role requires excellent attention to detail, strong strategic thinking skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships, to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, reentry program environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

· Manage the implementation and successful operation of STRIVE Fresh Start.

· Serve as the primary liaison between the program and local justice systems and advocates to provide targeted support to students, and foster partnerships with probation officers, correction facility staff and parole officers to ensure full program enrollment and timely reporting back to any appropriate referral source.

· Establish and maintain relationships with community-based organizations that address (but is not limited to) the following needs: mental health, medical, literacy, substance use, emotional regulation, conflict mediation, life skills, prosocial development and enrichment, recreation, and vocational and career support.

· Establish and maintain a network of providers experienced in assisting re-entry program participants and their families with resource connections in the community upon release and again at program completion.

· Ensure all outcomes are met, including post-program follow-up and post-program recidivism tracking.

· Oversee the coordination of multiple service elements including education, workforce development, workforce credential bearing courses, and other services as directed by the Executive Director of STRIVE Birmingham.

· Ensure the deliverance of appropriate case management services that successfully assist adults reentering their communities by working closely with Case Managers and other relevant staff that provide consistent support, guidance, and encouragement to help participants develop positive social relationships that result in achieving program outcomes. 

· Ensure all staff maintain timely data entry of progress notes, program attendance, and other STRIVE Fresh Start milestones.

· Monitor compliance with the STRIVE Fresh Start outcomes and applicable STRIVE program requirements; maintain a strong relationship with STRIVE Program & Impact and Development teams. 

Other Duties: 

· Work with other key STRIVE personnel focused on STRIVE Fresh Start to ensure the success of program participants. 

· Submit Quarterly Narrative Reports to the National Program & Impact team as compiled from monthly assessments and progress notes from case managers and facilitators.

· Oversee the maintenance of program records in STRIVE cloud-based CRM.

· Enter and maintain student data in STRIVE cloud-based CRM including, but not limited to cohort enrollments, cohort attendance, and cohort completions.

· Supervise the Fresh Start program staff and ensure all Fresh Start program staff maintain timely data entry of progress notes, program attendance, and other STRIVE Future Leaders milestones.

· Other projects as assigned. 

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred, or 3 to 5 years comparable work experience. 

· Must have a minimum of two to three years of professional experience in program management. 

· Professional experience with the re-entry of formerly incarcerated individuals and adults required. 

· In-depth knowledge of reentry programs, criminal justice system, and the challenges faced by individuals transitioning back from incarceration is preferred.

· Must have strong time and project management skills. 

· The ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of public and non-profit partners is necessary, excellent interpersonal skills required. 

· High level of comfort using and interpreting data reports to guide program service delivery.

· Commitment to leveraging data and supporting a data-driven culture at STRIVE.

· Must have outstanding communication and writing skills, solid proficiency in Microsoft Office. 

Location: This position will operate onsite Monday – Friday working from two STRIVE offices located in Birmingham Alabama.
