Strategic Communications is Hiring a Cloud Sales Account Executive Near Albany, NY

Job Title: Cloud Sales Account Executive 
Location: Remote - Must reside within 45-minute drive of Albany, New York
Shift: First, Monday through Friday, ability to respond after hours in support of special projects and peak seasons
Status: Exempt, Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Account Executive to support our growing Public Sector Cloud Services division. The qualified individual will be responsible for targeting opportunities in multiple verticals including state, local, education (SLED).
This position requires strong communication skills, experience in Public Cloud Computing, and a passion for helping clients solve problems.
Strategic holds top‐tier authorizations from all major Cloud OEMs, including AWS, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, and Equinix. Strategic Communications is a premier cloud solutions provider which holds the most sought‐after SLED contract vehicles, resulting in an abundant flow of opportunities to build business upon. These contracts include NASPO ValuePoint Cloud Participating Addendums (PA) in 18 states, NYS OGS, Omnia, Internet2, Texas DIR, NCPA, TIPS, and several other regional contracts. Strategic provides cloud services to some of the largest Federal agencies and holds multiple Federal contract vehicles such as NASA SEWP‐V, NIH CIO‐CS, ARMY CHESS, GSA, ITES‐SW2, and NAVY SeaPort‐NxG.
This position will work remotely from a home office with at least 25% travel to prospect/customer sites.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prospecting, qualifying, and closing new Cloud and Managed Services customer agreements resulting in new and recurring revenue.
  • Assisting in the development of go‐to‐market plans for expansion and growth of Cloud and Managed Services revenues through channels, field sales and other partnerships.
  • Coordinating sales processes with technical engineers to capture business requirements. Creating and delivering sales presentations, demonstrating ROI and value proposition to decision makers.
  • Generation of formal quotations and written responses to RFPs. Opportunity tracking via CRM tools.
  • Participating in sales meetings, sales training, networking and business development events and other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • 5 years of business‐to‐business sales with history in Information Technology and a proven record of exceeding sales quota
  • 2 years of experience selling Infrastructure as a Service (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google GCP), backup and disaster recovery, communication, and collaboration, and/or security (endpoint or datacenter) solutions; OEM sales certifications preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of IT terminology and ability to translate into non‐technical terms. Experience selling software as a service (SaaS) solutions to state and local government entities and negotiating/sourcing vendors strongly preferred.
  • Proven success building new business relationships (interacting with C‐level mgmt.), experienced in and comfortable with cold‐calling.
  • Prior experience in selling and interacting with Public Sector entities preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Capable of front‐line interaction with customers and consultative selling General understanding of business operations and basic financial principles
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • CRM (relationship management software) experience required, Tigerpaw & Hubspot experience preferred.
  • Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience working with multiple departments and managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • ISO 9001:2015 training – to be completed within ninety (90) days of hire
