Position Summary:

Strata G is seeking to fill the position of Systems Engineer in the Huntsville area. The position requires understanding and application of technical expertise in the systems engineering field with knowledge of the principles of Digital Engineering along as well as other related disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, and Software). Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to prepare cogent technical reports and prepare and present briefing materials to all levels of customer and management. Engineering responsibilities will include the implementation of systems engineering principles of functional operations identification, requirements management and tracking, subsequent verification and validation planning and execution, interface control, systems safety, and the development of corresponding products related to the design, integration, and test of various mechanical/electrical sub-systems and software associated with military or commercial ground vehicles and aircraft - rotary, fixed wing, and unmanned. The ideal candidate must be able to function without any appreciable direction or supervision while exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment. The position will require the ability to interact effectively with team members, customers, support personnel, and senior management on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Qualifications Required:

• Must currently have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
• Must be knowledgeable in the DODD 5000 System Engineering "V" cycle concept and processes for product development lifecycle (consistent with DoD System Engineering Fundamentals Handbook, dated January 2001), or OGA equivalent
• Must have a working knowledge the principles and application of the Modular Open System Architecture (MOSA)
• Familiarity and experience using Requirements management software (Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) preferred) for requirements tracking and linking
• Familiar with Digital Engineering practices and application
• Familiarity and experience with computer-based modelling tools for systems engineering, Cameo preferred.
• Familiarity or be knowledgeable in the principles of Continuous Risk Management (identify, communicate, analyze, plan, track, and control)
• Competent and experienced in the wholesale development and organization of government contract deliverables (CDRLs) per required Data Item Descriptions (DIDs)
• Must be experienced in supporting major program reviews (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, etc.), and Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings

Qualifications Desired:

• Familiarity and experience with the principles of aircraft and system development and integral processes outlined in SAE ARP 754, Guidelines for the Development of Civil Aircraft and Systems
• Familiarity and experience with the principles of the safety assessment process and safety assessment analysis methods outlined in SAE ARP 4761, Guidelines and Methods for Conducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne Systems and Equipment
• Familiarity and experience in the development of Fault Tree Analyses (FTAs), Common Cause Analyses (CCAs), Common Mode Analyses (CMAs), Dependency Diagrams (DDs), Markov Analyses (MAs), and Failure Modes and Effects Criticality Analyses (FMECA)

Minimum Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Systems, Software, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical) or years of experience per new DOD guidelines.
• Desire DAU/DSMC Systems Engineering Course
