Description

Strang is seeking a highly motivated sales professional who can lead the business development efforts in our Milwaukee region. Our ideal candidate will reside in Southeastern Wisconsin and have strong community ties to the market with a can-do attitude, bringing process and structure to an office that moves quickly. Key responsibilities include

  • Execution of business development strategies for the five Strang go-to-market industries, following Strang’s sales process. This requires working closely with Strang’s senior leadership to develop capture plans. The five industry sectors include: higher education, government, science and technology, performing arts, and corporate/office.
  • Assist in the development and execution of the overall Strang marketing plan, ensuring that the strategy and tactics align with the firm’s goals. Work closely with fellow business development and marketing professionals in a high-performance team where each member is valued, trusted, and respected.
  • Create and support growth plans for current and past clients. Assist team leadership with client loyalty program execution.
  • Research the market, opportunities and competitors and share the information accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain expertise and awareness of the Milwaukee regional market to create value for our clients, keeping abreast of where the market is headed. Accomplish this through participation in industry organizations, regular consumption of business publications and other media, while building a network of other professionals in Strang’s target industries, the A/E/C market, and professionals up-stream of opportunities.
  • Promote visibility of Strang in the Milwaukee regional market through PR and participation in various industry sponsored events, awards, and associations. Master the art of networking that maximizes the value of time spent. Understand the balance between networking with the need to “get work done.”
  • Provide guidance and insight to the marketing team in developing both informal and formal responses to clients including: RFI/Q/P responses, brochures, presentations, project information, marketing campaigns, and other marketing collateral as required. Manage buy-in from leadership and follow-through on research assignments. Own the client deliverables.
  • Create and maintain accurate data in the CRM system for leads, opportunities, contacts, and accurate reporting. Work closely with the CRM marketing coordinator to identify and qualify leads and opportunities. Regularly track leads and opportunities through the sales process, ensuring that all are progressing efficiently.

Requirements

What you can bring to the team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, and/or business with excellent writing and communication skills. A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or interior design is also desirable coupled with the minimum years of experience required as noted below.
  • Successful experience in business development or marketing within the A/E/C industry or equivalent business development / fund raising experience in non-profit or business-to-business organizations.
  • Strong engagement with the Milwaukee Regional Business Community is preferred.
  • Experience in developing and executing sales plans with a working knowledge of CRM systems; Salesforce or MS Dynamics 365 a plus.
  • Familiar with, and use of sales strategies and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including PowerPoint is required. Adobe Suite experience is a plus but not required.
  • This position is based out of our Milwaukee Regional office, while significant time outside of the office, including off-business hours and occasional travel is to be expected.
