Position Overview

The Receptionist is the first point of contact and plays a central role in creating a positive experience for their patients. This position requires excellent communication skills, the capability to greet and check-in patients in a professional and personable manner, strong attention to detail, manage office administrative tasks, a willingness to cross train on some of the medical assistant duties, and a passion for helping others in attaining their weight loss objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients warmly as they arrive at the clinic, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued from the moment they walk in the door.
  • Efficiently check-in patients for their appointments, verifying personal and insurance information, updating records as necessary and collecting payments.
  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries promptly and professionally, providing accurate information about our services, programs, and clinic policies.
  • Manage the clinic's appointment calendar and schedule efficiently, coordinating with clients and staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning documents, and maintaining patient records with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Provide compassionate support and encouragement to patients, answering questions, addressing concerns, and connecting them with the appropriate staff members when necessary.
  • Ensure the reception area and waiting room are clean and welcoming at all times, including stocking supplies and organizing reading materials.
  • Adhere to clinic policies and procedures, including confidentiality guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a medical receptionist or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare or wellness setting.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly, personable and professional demeanor.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses challenges, demonstrating a strong ability to take initiative in advancing tasks or resolving issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in operating phone systems, computer skills, and other office equipment.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude, with a genuine desire to assist patients.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
  • Develop proficiency in administering injections and taking patients’ blood pressure.
  • Passion for promoting health and wellness and supporting individuals in achieving their weight loss goals.

Compensation:

The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.

The posted hourly range for this position takes into account various factors, including the candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations. Additionally, the salary offered within this range may be subject to a geographic adjustment, based on a specific city and state, and depending on the role. This adjustment would occur if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.

Schedule:

This position does not require a weekend work schedule.

Work Setting:

This position requires on-site presence at the clinic.
