Stone Alliance Group is Hiring a Professional Training Clinician Near San Mateo, CA

Our client is recruiting a Clinician for the School and Community Programs. Breaking down barriers to care, the Professional Training team engages in collaborative relationships with school partners to build on strengths and increase capacity for sustainable access to mental wellness for students. These training programs bring a suite of evidence-based services to prevent and treat student mental health disorders in school and community settings, including a K-12 mental health skill-building curriculum and evidence-based treatment to children and teens struggling with posttraumatic stress, behavior, attention, mood, or learning disorders.

The Clinician will be responsible for implementing trauma-informed practices within schools and communities as part of the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) grant. This 2-year, grant-funded position will focus on promoting social and emotional well-being, preventing behavioral health challenges, and providing equitable, appropriate, timely, and accessible services for children and youth. The Clinician will provide a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills group to middle and high school students in the Bay Area and will later train other clinicians in soon-to-be-identified school districts to facilitate the group with their students.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Professional Training, School, and Community Programs, this is an exempt, full-time position hybrid based at their Bay area headquarters.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize previous experience and expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to provide DBT skills group based off of DBT STEPS-A to students in schools, focusing on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness.
  • Provide training and consultation to school staff, including teachers, counselors, and administrators, on trauma-informed practices, DBT strategies, and DBT Skills groups to support students' social and emotional well-being.
  • Facilitate class-wide social-emotional skill building workshops drawn from cognitive-behavioral techniques.
  • Collaborate with school teams, parents, and community partners to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to supporting students' behavioral health needs. Consult with educators and school staff on implementation of strategies to reduce mental health symptoms and promote school success.
  • Collect data on program outcomes and participate in the evaluation of the program's effectiveness, providing regular reports to the grant oversight committee. Provide educator training workshops in partner schools around San Francisco, covering topics such as educator Stress Reduction and Healing- Centered Engagement School Support.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited program in social work, psychology, clinical counseling or marriage and family therapy with current BBS/BOP license or registration as an associate. Or Current CA licensure/registration in good standing as LCSW, LMFT, LPCC and other related fields allowing for independent practice and delivery of mental health services.
  • Experience in providing DBT - A or DBT- STEPS - A. Certification by Behavioral Tech preferred.
  • At least 4 years of experience working in a school, community to nonprofit setting.
  • Experience in providing supervision to trainees is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with public speaking to a variety of audiences, including educators, school administrators, and parents and caregivers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of individuals/groups.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates preferred.
  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills, including conflict resolution.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of initiative, dependability, and the ability to be productive in an autonomous environment.

Special Considerations:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 annually.

Factors such as candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range. In addition, this salary may be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state and depending on the role), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
