JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking to fill our General Facility Maintenance position. This role is designed for those with Handyman experience looking into starting a career in the transportation maintenance industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

• Mowing, trimming, and edging lawns to ensure a well-groomed and aesthetically pleasing landscape.
• Planting, watering, and caring for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation.
• Applying fertilizers and pesticides as needed to maintain healthy and vibrant plant life.

• Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in various areas of the facility.
• Emptying trash bins and replacing trash bags.
• Dusting and cleaning surfaces in common areas.

• Regularly collecting and disposing of trash and recyclables from outdoor bins and common areas.
• Maintaining clean and sanitary waste disposal practices.

• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and washrooms on the facility's grounds.
• Refilling soap dispensers, restocking toilet paper, and ensuring that restroom supplies are adequately maintained.

• Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as changing light bulbs, repairing basic plumbing issues, and fixing minor structural problems.
• Inspecting and maintaining equipment and machinery used in groundskeeping.

• Ensuring that all work is carried out safely and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Identifying potential hazards and taking appropriate measures to address them.

• Maintaining records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
• Reporting any maintenance or safety concerns to the relevant authorities.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, custodial work, or general maintenance is a plus.
• Knowledge of landscaping and basic horticultural practices.
• Basic handyman skills for minor repairs.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and well-kept environment.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
