Food Production Supervisor

Location : Greeley, CO

Protein processor with five distribution locations serving Retail, Foodservice, and Industrial sectors. Our product range includes Beef, Chicken, Pork, Portion Control products, Marinated Meats, Fresh Ground Beef, Fully Cooked and Raw products, and Corned Beef.

This role involves overseeing production employees to optimize quality, service, and efficiency in order to achieve operational excellence, following company policies and procedures.

The top priority is the safety, development, and retention of the team. As the front-line leader in logistics, production, and food safety, you will be responsible for employee engagement, teamwork, and coaching.

Additionally, you will collaborate with business partners to ensure a smooth product flow and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities :

• Directly supervise personnel in day-to-day production operations to achieve yields, gross margins, and scheduling of both raw and finished goods.
• Prioritize duties, delegate work assignments, and optimize production and sanitation functions through effective scheduling.
• Train and create an environment for employees to maximize their quality and productivity performance.
• Lead efforts in loss prevention, risk management, USDA compliance, and employee relations.
• Promote department and company goodwill through proactive employee communication and involvement.
• Coordinate with Human Resources for recruitment, training, and development of qualified talent.
• Ensure individual employee productivity aligns with business objectives and reduce turnover.
• Maintain knowledge of yields, quality, and variances to support goals on efficiencies.
• Evaluate processes, methods, equipment performance, utilization of people, and product quality.
• Act as a technical resource to address and resolve production and quality issues.
• Perform routine inspections of the production floor to ensure safety and adherence to procedures.
• Train employees on safe operating procedures and ensure compliance.
• Maintain departmental supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Complete all required production paperwork and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Maintain knowledge of products and equipment to direct employees and maintain specifications.

Reports to : Production Manager

Qualifications :

• 3 years of progressive leadership experience in relevant commercial food operations.
• Previous food processing and supervisory experience preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and industry product reporting systems.
• Effective communication skills, including delivering presentations and resolving conflicts.
• Bilingual Spanish a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and process routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and mathematical abilities.
