STERIS is Hiring a Manager, Business Intelligence and Analytics Near Birmingham, AL

Position Summary

Manages a highly technical, Customer-oriented team and collaborates with leadership, stakeholders, and directly with Customers to enhance our analytical differentiation through innovative business intelligence solutions. Creates complex analytical solutions that align with complex business needs. Advances our data-driven culture across multiple divisions by coaching staff through formal training and on-the-job during Customer interactions. Facilitates the development and support of the sales and operations go-to-market strategy to drive performance.

Provides foundational solutions that provide insight across the entire business division, including financial, operational, and Customer behavior. Report development will represent performance across all areas of the organization and will be critical to the development of the strategic and operational plans. Leader will ensure quality development, project planning, and design of KPIs, visuals, and training deliverables which measure KPIs for the organization.

Duties

1. Technology Subject Matter Expert (20%)

  • Develops training content, materials, and educational curriculum for business stakeholders on data tools, dashboards, and analytical reporting.
  • Demonstrates and trains sales, operations, business analysts, and finance staff on analytical interpretation, standard report execution, and presentation preparation.
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert as well as a technical expert for STERIS Personnel as it relates to systems, data, and reporting tools.
  • Provides instruction on the effective use of IT tools used to gather and present accurate information to internal / external stakeholders.

2. Report Design, Development, and Presentation (30%)

  • Responsible for the statistical modeling, metric definition and visualization that enables business leaders to make decisions throughout the organization.
  • Determine direction, goals, objectives, and performance of business intelligence solutions required to meet business objectives.
  • Participates in project planning to align project goals and timelines.
  • Presents key insights to Senior Management with insightful recommendations to improve business performance.
  • Leads projects to develop and deliver a self-service interactive presentation platform utilizing a variety of technologies.
  • Ensures reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) are accurate, high quality, intuitive to ensure utilization within the organization.
  • Identifies, analyzes, interprets trends, or patterns in complex data sets and introduces policy recommendations.

3. Financial and Operational Analytics (20%)

  • Provides comprehensive review of financial and operational performance using data visualization across multiple forms of media.
  • Provide pricing and profitability analytics along with market analysis to define pricing structure.
  • Responds promptly to reporting requests and manages team to support ad hoc analysis requests.
  • Provides complex territory analytics with a comprehensive review business and operational performance.
  • Manages routine optimization of business territories and workload balancing.
  • Leads as a subject matter expert in support analytics for marketing and operational performance.

4. Customer Engagement (10%)

  • Complete Customer engagement analysis and present recommendation results to organization.
  • Support Development of Customer business reviews.
  • Engage and lead analysis development of Customer tracking system data systems.
  • Develop and ensure effective reporting for Customer service portals.

5. Requirements Documentation and Quality (10%)

  • Completes research and documentation of project requirements.
  • Works closely with senior management and key stakeholders across all areas of management to gather requirements, design solutions, and align BI deliverables to meet organizational needs.
  • Defines standard work for all reporting and document steps to repeat analysis.
  • Strong focus on quality results including the ability to validate report results.
  • Ensure quality metrics in place to continually improve report practices and procedures.

6. Team Leadership (10%)

  • Manages team efficiently to deliver to project requirements.
  • Builds team engagement and ensures employee development plans are established.
  • Provides clear direction and guidance to employees on performance, project development, and deliverables.
  • Eliminates obstacles for team to deliver results on time to project plan.

Required Experience

Specific Work Requirements:

1. Ability to transform complex datasets, code, and business requirements into easily understood actionable dashboards and reports.
2. Ability to design, analyze, translate, and present complex data into management information. (5 )
3. Experience working directly with internal and external Customers to creatively solve their business problems.
4. Ability to coach and develop team members as they design, develop, and implement analytical tools.
5. Support standardized, scalable analytical tools in the production environment.
6. Assist with training of business stakeholders to facilitate stronger adoption of analytical tools, STERIS IMS CRM and ConnectCare.
7. Experience managing staff directly as well as cross functional project teams.
8. Technical Competency in Database, Data warehouse. (5 )

Specific Work Preferences:

1. Advanced technical knowledge of BI tools for visualization, data exploration, STERIS IMS data warehouses, and presentation skills. (TOAD, SSMS, SSRS, Tableau desktop, Tableau site administration, Power BI.
2. Project management skills preferred.
3. Advanced SQL
4. Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.

Specific Skills and/or Business Competencies:

1. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and feel at ease communicating regularly with technical and business teams.
2. Advanced technical knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Tableau
3. Python preferred.
4. Understanding of business analytics related to sales, operational, financial, and sterile processing.
5. Ability to communicate with and influence technical, product and design teams.
6. Ability to work within a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple sites.
7. Demonstration of Presentation and Visualization skills as it relates to providing insight.
