Director, Fibrosis Drug Discovery

Position 

As a Scientist in the Drug Discovery group, you will be a crucial member of our interdisciplinary team, comprising highly creative and talented individuals with exceptional expertise in biologics discovery. This group is responsible for validating targets and establishing discovery projects to populate a clinical meaningful and differentiated therapeutics pipeline. You will work collaboratively with functional genomics, proteomics, protein design and engineering, and computational scientists. 

About You 

You are an enthusiastic translational biologist with deep knowledge of disease biology mechanisms, proved ability to establish and use translatable disease models to support discovery programs. You enjoy mentoring and teaching junior members of the team. Your passion lies in drug discovery and developing novel treatments for patients. You are conscientious, detail-oriented, organized, and dedicated to reproducible science and optimizing lab workflows. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where pushing the boundaries of what is possible is the norm. 

Qualifications 

• PhD and postdoctoral work in fibrosis or related field. 5 years of experience in drug discovery with proven leadership of preclinical development of therapeutic project(s) and clinical candidate selection is required. 
• Expertise in the pathobiology of fibrosis and disease progression, in vivo models, and fibrosis-related cell biology methods.
• Ability to champion project strategy, present project results rigorously to leadership, and motivate a cross-disciplinary team, including computational and experimental biologists.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex scientific concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor junior research associates.

Nice to have Skill(s) 

• Discovery of novel and biologically relevant biologics highly desirable. 
• Experience as a project team lead (PTL) in drug discovery setting.
• Experience using LIMS and Benchling systems.
