The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill a Food Service Production Teacher at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac, WI.

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Education Director, this position will develop and implement a program of professional educational services in Food Service Production to inmates in order to meet their assessed individual vocational needs. They will also complete all required documentation of student assessment/progress and other reporting requirements in a timely manner, monitor and manage student behavior, attend staffing and meetings and serve as an effective interdisciplinary team member.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 13-04 with a starting pay rate of $28.55 per hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.
Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants must meet criteria determined by the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) as a Teacher of Food Service Production ; final eligibility requirements are determined by the WTCS. Applicants must score a 90% or higher on the ServSafe exam and will need to certify as a ServSafe proctor (so that the applicant may administer the test for students).
In order to be eligible to teach classes for the WTCS, applicants must also meet these two criteria listed below ( You must submit transcripts with your application ): Associate’s Degree (or higher)
Two (2) years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one (1) year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five (5) years. In lieu of this one (1) year (2,000 hours) of recent experience, two (2) years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five (5) years may be considered.
