The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Program and Policy Analyst -Adv position. This position is based out ofDivision of Juvenile Correction, Central Office, 3099 E. Washington Ave, Madison, WI (Dane County).

Position Summary
This position is responsible for a wide range of policy analysis, program evaluation, data analysis, planning, facilitation, management, and implementation activities for DJC programs and systems. This position is responsible for collecting, extensively analyzing, evaluating, and reporting on data pertaining to youth under the care of DJC and performance measures or other pertinent pieces of data relevant to the assigned program area. The position works with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership and staff from all DJC facilities/offices and a Department of Corrections (DOC) data analysis team comprised of counterpart staff from other divisions like the Office of Research and Policy (ORP), Bureau of Budget and Facilities Management (BBFM), and Bureau of Technology Management (BTM) to ensure a robust measurement and assessment plan for the DOC, including issue identification, measurement, evaluation, and reporting of the findings.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 07-03 with an annual salary of $52,665 - $86,902, plus excellent benefits. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the State Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A twelve-month probationary period is required.
Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
NOTE: There will be two Program & Policy Analyst Adv positions posted seperately. You will need to apply to both to be eligible for each one.
Qualifications
A minimally qualified applicants will have experience in all three criteria: Experience in extracting, analyzing, and auditing complex data sets for integrity and reporting purposes Translating or explaining technological tools, systems, terms, and/or functionality to users who have little or no technical knowledge Experience in utilizing business analysis and critical thinking techniques, including root cause analysis, to identify issues or inconsistencies in data or procedure and propose business or technical solutions.
In addition to the above minimum qualifications, a highly qualified applicant will have experience in: Maintaining an electronic system at an administrative level Develop reports using a query tool or structured query language Experience in aspects of project management, including managing multiple projects simultaneously
