Parks/South Charleston HQ/Kanawha County **THIS IS AN EXEMPT POSITION**
Under general supervision of the Director, this employee will serve as the Central Reservation System and Revenue Manager for the State Parks Section of the Division of Natural Resources. The employee will be a member of the management team, and establish section policies, rules and guidelines designed for ensuring the maximization of revenue and on-line inventory availability for accommodations sold by in-house sales agents at the State Parks call center and at individual parks and forests. This employee will be responsible for ensuring that field level Park Managers have accurate and current information on offers, deals, and discounts as well as up to date information on new or discontinued products and promotions. Develops suppliers for lodging types, activity, or retail items and programs account policies. Ensures that all available on-line information for all suppliers and products are kept up to date by periodically reviewing representative photos, park maps, room type descriptions, campsite information, park information, guest amenities, as well as bookable activities and add-on information. Will run and analyze sixty-day occupancy reports in order to identify field level performance issues, occupancy trends, and pace. Will release minimum stay requirements based on occupancy levels. Will review and recommend changes to upcoming deals and discounts, and will participate in monthly revenue meetings being prepared to discuss report findings and will make decisions that will dynamically maximize rates for overnight accommodations based on booking patterns. This employee will represent the Parks and Recreation Section and sit on various committees related to review of property management systems, booking engines, and related technology. Will assist in or develop and implement training on current online systems; act as Parks and Recreation PMS trainer and train Park Superintendents, Lodge Managers, Front Desk Agents and Call Center Agents on the operation of property management systems and online reservation systems; develop and implement policies and procedures for making, modifying and canceling reservations, periodically assess current system rate structures; implement approved rate changes and adjustments; and ensure that available inventory for next calendar year posts with appropriate booking policies. May be required to travel to various state parks to provide on-site training and technical assistance to on-property staff. Must be available to be on-call and have flexibility to occasionally work weekends and holidays if necessary. May perform other related work as assigned or required. Regular attendance is required.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in a related field.
AND
Experience: Five (5) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience working at a state park, in natural resources related field, in the tourism or travel industry, or in the environmental industry four (4) years of which must have been in responsible administrative or supervisory capacity.
