Nature of Work

Special Hiring Rate: $48,207.12 - Office of the Chief Medical Examiner
The incumbent will perform analysis on samples properly accessioned into the OCME forensic lab in accordance with the direction of the forensic pathologist assigned to the case associated with the samples or in accordance with the direction issued by the chief toxicologist of the OCME. The results of these analyses are provided to the forensic pathologist for interpretation and utilization in the determination of cause and manner of death for their respective cases. Other duties assigned. Preference will by given to candidate that has Bachelor Degree, in Biology and Chemistry.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university with a major in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, forensic sciences, natural sciences or related field.

Training Substitution for Firearms Section Only: Four years of experience as a qualified forensic laboratory firearms examiner may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
Experience: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in the analysis of evidentiary material.
