State of Utah is Hiring a Research Analyst II Near Salt Lake, UT


The employee will provide research, and compile requested data analysis. The employee will generate routine data and reports through computer software applications. The employee will provide a variety of research projects, studies, collection of data and completion of reports for management use. The employee assist in designing and implementing appropriate data collection surveys in addition to engaging in analysis. This job is distinguished from the senior level in the type of analysis and research performed. The employee will assist the department staff in collecting, analyzing, submitting data for various programs, grants, projects, state and federal reports as assigned.
Principal Duties:
  • Understand, interpret and apply federal and state regulation, policy rules, instruction and guidance.
  • Assist with program compliance measures by utilizing state and federal databases and report outcomes.
  • Communicate with local sponsors through letter through letters, emails, phone call, virtual conferences and in person visits.
  • Provide technical assistance to sponsors. 
  • Collects data and reviews research materials, determines accuracy and validity of sources and appropriateness for use.
  • Design and/or use questionnaires, surveys or other instruments used in the collection and analysis of data.
  • Performs research activities by utilizing computer software to obtain and manipulate data.
  • Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results, edits, prepares or makes recommendations.
  • Reviews and/or evaluates reports, documents, laws, rules, and regulations; edits prepares, or approves summaries of findings.
  • Writes and/or uses computer programs to generate and analyze data.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with team members, agency staff and stakeholders.
  • Maintain professionalism while providing customer service by recognizing and accurately addressing sponsor's needs.
  • Present at trainings, workshops and conferences.
  • Limited travel in and out of state, this includes overnight stays.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has: 
  • A Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, education or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in Federal Child Nutrition Programs.
